My entry for the Mythical Creatures Challenge, with the Mexican god of death, Xoloitzcuintle or Xolotl, twin brother of Quetzacoatl, the feathered Serpent.
Xolotl's incarnation is a mexican hairless dog who reaps the souls of the dead to bring them to the afterworld.
So here is Xolotl jumping into the Afterworld holding in between his jaws a cloud of two souls.
The five color law really killed me on that one. I had done the whole design in acrylics but couldn't bring it to the right number of colors after the scan so... I drew it all back on the computer!
Still, it was pretty fun. Around 16 hours.
